low density on circulating monocytes. In lymphoid tissue, CD15 reacts with Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin's disease and with
granulocytes. However, CD15 reacts with few tissue macrophages and does not react with dendritic cells.

While its precise function is not known, there is recent suggestion that the molecule functions as an Fc receptor for IgM. CD7 is the most consistently expressed T cell antigen in lymphoblastic lymphomas and leukaemias, and is therefore a useful marker in identification of such neoplastic proliferations.
